a pattern by Portabellopixie

I recently discovered the adorable patterns by Sandi Henderson... and made cyra the single ruffle pant. And yes, I'm happy to say i finally dusted off my new serger that my darling husband surprised me with.
I came home from a trip six months ago and returned to this amazing serger on my sewing table..
he even tied a bow around it.. how sweet is that?
so now that I can actually thread it and I'm not so terrified of the blades.. i'm totally into serging, plus i have the sweetest husband ever, life is good.

apron

I started making cyra an apron out of scrap fabrics I had laying around.. I made up the pattern as I went along so it may take her a couple years to grow into it.. but I think it turned out pretty sweet.

matted alphabet

i purchased this adorable letterpress alphabet poster from sycamore street press. And bought a frame that was already matted from a local craft store. I then used a spray adhesive to cover the mat with a matching fabric.

how about blueberries and belly buttons?

we went blueberry picking yesterday morning.. it was too fun. we enjoyed picking the ripe, the unripe, the grass, the gravel and showing off our belly buttons. it was a good day.

roman shades

Last year I made roman shades for our kitchen.. I bought the fabric from ikea.. and used this website to get a custom kit that would fit out windows. the kit came with a pattern that was really easy to follow.
